The Association has a 9 member board that represents several communities in the area. It was organized in 1947 for the sole purpose of building a in the . Construction was completed in 1952, with additions in 1963 and 1969. The grounds, building, and clinic across the street is owned by the . The board is financially responsible for maintenance and upkeep of the buildings and grounds. The (A CriticalAccess Level V designated trauma facility with 24 beds and 24 hour emergency room capabilities)and clinic (NCHC) are leased by the current tenants. The 9 member board meets on a monthly basis to keep abreast of the operation and needs and works with the maintenance staff, professionals, and administration to keep the facility viable and safe.The next closest facility is 60 miles away which makes it vitally important to be able to serve the people of our area.
